The advancing digital transformation triggers stronger social and economic change processes with the technologies used.
The research project “Digital Transformation – Multiple Benefits of Digital Services” focuses on the economic level, in particular on the supply and demand side of ICT applications and their life cycle assessment.
The research work formulates the thesis that the new ICT-supported, digital services generate simplifications in process handling during their lifecycle at the customer, bring about operational cost savings and cause a lower energy/resource consumption (footprint).
The social dimension as well as the consideration of social working conditions concerning the mining and production of ICT components are excluded in this paper.
Project initialization is underway. It is planned to carry out the research project with the ZHAW and the University of Zurich.
